DRAFTKINGS BROADCAST MOTION GRAPHICS CAMPAIGNS

Throughout my tenure at DraftKings as a Senior Designer and Motion Design Manager, I worked on a variety of animations for broadcast and YouTube pre-roll. The styles changed as their campaigns and themes shifted, so my approach did as well. All projects were brought to life in After Effects, with some utilizing hand-drawn animation or Cinema 4D.

NBA FINALS

This was our first in-house campaign, and I was given the lead on it. We took stock footage and added energy through hand-drawn animation. From the sweat of the anticipation, to enhancing impactful moments, I animated those accents frame by frame in brand colors.

ABE & BEN

Leaning into a 2D puppet-style animation with hand-drawn elements, I brought these characters to life in After Effects. Abe and Ben became the “spokesmen” for DraftKings for a few years and I was responsible for animating them each time.

SPORTSBOOK 100:1 ODDS

Moving into a more tech-focused, futuristic style, we created this hologram look in After Effects to highlight the latest offer.

NBA LIVE BETTING

To capture the energy and intensity of live betting, we animated in a fast-paced 2D style. This pulled in elements of kinetic type, match cuts, and constant motion throughout the whole animation.

SAME GAME PARLAY

This was such a significant new product launch that we spent months developing this animation. I worked with the creative team closely, experimenting in Cinema 4D to create the look and feel of this. Once we set the color palette and animation style, I brought it all to life to be a modular commercial, editable for any sport.

YOUTUBE PREROLL

Building on the new 3D approach, I made this quick pre-roll animation for YouTube. It was easy to swap out the text and background for any product DraftKings offered while highlighting the key information.
